Osun State Governor, Governor Adeleke deflects to the Accord Party ahead of primaries.

Governor Adeleke Osun state Governor, governor Ademola Adeleke resigned from the people's democratic party (PDP) on the 4th of November 2025 to join the Accord party. Following his resignation, PDP conducted its primaries and now have Adebayo Adedamola as its new candidate. The event began promptly with the arrival and recognition of distinguished speakers and guests, followed by a warm welcome address from the Head of Department, Dr Bisi Olawuyi.  Mrs. Adeola Odesanya opened the program with a stirring keynote speech.  She passionately argued that purposeful communication must start from a foundation of empathy, urging communicators to craft content that heals and inspires rather than divides.  In a thought-provoking address that stirred the intellectual atmosphere of Trenchard Hall, Professor Olusola Oyeyinka Oyewo of the Department of Communication and Language Arts delivered the landmark 600th Inaugural Lecture today,  November 20, 2025. The lecture commenced with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, who chaired the event, opening the ceremony by highlighting the lecturer's personal journey, noting that Professor Oyewo is the last child of his family and lost his father at a young age.  The University of Ibadan (UI) held its 77th Convocation Ceremony in November 2025, marking another important milestone in the history of Nigeria's premier university. This convocation was part of a series of events including the 77th Foundation Day celebrations. The convocation ceremony churned out about 5,900 graduates from all faculties, including the distance learning center receiving their degrees. Among these graduates, an impressive 448 earned First Class degrees, reflecting the university's commitment to high academic standards.   The Dean's Cup competition is an anticipated football tradition that occurs during the second semester of every session in the prestigious Faculty of Arts.  The session's edition kicked off with the CLA and History departments, and it was accompanied by all the usual excitement and drama that students had been waiting for. Right from the first whistle, both teams came out with energy and determination, eager to win bragging rights and represent their departments in style.  Barely a few minutes into the match, a penalty kick was awarded to the CLA team, but they missed the opportunity.  However, the loss didn't deter them.
